The biannual UK Space Conference brought together the prime players of the UK space industry, attracting over 1000 representatives, entrepreneurs, academia, policy-makers and other stakeholders. The theme for this year’s edition, Space-enabled Futures, reflected the UK’s strong commitment to promote technologies developed for space into downstream industries.
Twenty-five parallel sessions covered a broad range of topics such as ITS, cross-continental partnerships, space-enabled markets and international business opportunities for the UK space community, demonstrating the rapidly growing UK space industry and its significant interest in international collaboration.
As part of the conference an extensive exhibition was held, giving industry the opportunity to showcase their latest space innovations and technologies. GNSS.asia was present with a promotion stand at a central location. The team made use of its presence to actively promote the GNSS.asia platform and raise awareness on international GNSS cooperation opportunities, using its broad communication portfolio (e.g. project leaflets, country profiles) while simultaneously offering promotion materials on behalf of several European GNSS companies.
In addition, the team secured a speaking slot during the Soapbox Sessions, which was used to introduce the GNSS.asia Challenge concept and promote the presence of the GNSS.asia platform at the exhibition. Several one-to-one meetings further allowed for the project to attract interest from UK stakeholders and get insights in possible areas of cooperation.
GNSS.asia is funded by the European Union within Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, under grant agreement no 641615.
