ANYWAVES enters a five-year partnership with Airbus to provide satellite antennas
ANYWAVES, a spin-off of the French Space Agency (CNES) and a leading antenna equipment manufacturer for satellite constellations, has been selected by Airbus Defence and Space to supply the antenna for the four satellites making up the Constellation Optique 3D (CO3D) constellation, with the framework contract outlining that they will be able to supply several dozen S-band antennas in the next five years if the constellation is to be expanded.
CO3D is a programme under CNES that is aiming to deliver a global, high-resolution Digital Service Model. The four satellites in the constellation are expected to be launched at the end of 2022, and they will deliver a 50cm resolution stereo imagery across the world on a daily basis to produce a 3D map of the Earth’s landmass. The data produced by these satellites will be available for use by scientific and defence institutional partners of the programme.
ANYWAVES has seen great success since it was founded in 2017, with Nicolas Capet, the CEO of ANYWAVES telling AFP that it has already signed a partnership to supply Loft Orbital’s satellites with antenna and it was well-positioned to seek new customers such OneWeb.
