STMicroelectronics Launches GNSS Receiver for Autonomous Cars
STMicroelectronics are a semiconductor and electronics company that have introduced a multi-frequency satellite navigation receiver chipset, aimed at automotive applications and high-accuracy positioning. This chipset aims to support safer autonomous driving and is suitable for Precise Point Positioning (PPP) and Real-Time Kinematics (RTK) applications.
By tracking satellites of all Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) constellations simultaneously, STM’s Teseo Automated Precise Positioning (APP) receiver provides raw GNSS data for PP and RTK, which allows accurate positioning and rapid convergence time worldwide, according to the company.
STMicroelectronics is also supplying product samples to lead customers developing autonomous-driving systems expected to launch in 2020 and 2021.
