The Galileo Performance Reports of Q4 2020 are now available to download
The European GNSS Agency (GSA) has published both the Galileo Open Service (OS) and the Search and Rescue Service (SAR) quarterly performance report, providing an overview of the status of the Galileo constellation and the achieved performance in October, November, and December.
Galileo OS and SAR are two of the four high-performance services provided by Galileo worldwide, alongside the Public Regulated Service (PRS) and the High Accuracy Service (HAS). Galileo OS is an open free of charge service set up for positioning and timing services, of which OS-NMA is a key part.
Open Service Performance Review
Galileo SAR is the biggest contributor to the COSPAS-SARSAT MEOSAR programme and it is used to quickly locate and help people in distress.
Search and Rescue Performance Review
These performance reports provide the latest information on the services with respect to their Minimum Performance Levels as defined in the OS-Service Definition Document and the SAR-Service Definition Document.
The reports themselves measured that nearly all performance figures exceeded the minimum performance levels, with one of the reports even covering the December 2020 Galileo Service Outage. Highlights of the reports have been published here.
